Sales - New Business Developer

Full Time

As we expand, we are looking for a driven and results-oriented New Business Developer to join our team and help us grow our client base and market presence.

Job Overview:
The New Business Developer will be responsible for identifying, securing, and developing new business opportunities in the fuel industry. This role requires a self-motivated and proactive individual with a passion for sales, business development, and building long-term relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales or business development, strong networking skills, and a deep understanding of the fuel industry and its market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:​

  • Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and qualify new business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach. Build a pipeline of potential clients and partners in the fuel distribution industry.

  • Client Acquisition: Present Xpress Fuel’s products and services to potential clients, highlighting our competitive advantages and driving the acquisition of new customers.

  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including business owners, fleet managers, and procurement teams.

  • Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors. Use this knowledge to develop strategic approaches for approaching new business prospects.

  • Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create and execute sales strategies aimed at increasing market share and revenue.

  • Negotiation & Closing: Lead negotiations with prospective clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and agreements are reached. Close new business deals and meet or exceed sales targets.

  • Customer Retention: Work closely with the customer service team to ensure client satisfaction and retain new business long-term.

  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and opportunities in the company’s CRM system.

Qualifications:​

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably in the fuel or energy sector (desired but not essential.)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.

  • Highly motivated, results-driven, and goal-oriented with a strong desire to succeed.

  • Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

Key Responsibilities:​

  • Client Communication: Respond promptly and professionally to incoming calls and emails, ensuring all client inquiries and issues are handled efficiently and effectively.

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers to promote satisfaction, trust, and long-term loyalty.

  • Account Management: Oversee existing client accounts, ensuring their needs are met while identifying and pursuing opportunities for growth and upselling.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple priorities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general administrative systems.

  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and professional approach with a strong focus on delivering exceptional client service.
